Who operates Unveylo and who can use it

Operator and contact

Unveylo is operated by Sumit Pundir, an individual based in India. Unveylo helps you check information and read published fact-checks. Contact support@unveylo.com about privacy or your account.

Who can use Unveylo

Unveylo is intended for people aged 18 and over. We ask you to confirm this before using the app. This confirmation is not identity or age verification. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Information we use and how long we keep it

Information used

When you create or access an account, our authentication provider processes your email address, account identifier, sign-in provider and verification status. Password authentication is handled by that provider; Unveylo does not store your password. Signup verification emails are delivered using an email delivery provider.

When you request a check, we process the links, text, captions, images, audio or videos you choose to submit, together with the information needed to retrieve evidence and return the result. Content may include personal information, so submit only material you are entitled to share and avoid unnecessary sensitive information. We use cloud AI and search providers to process these requests.

We process usage information, check references, network information such as IP addresses, and security records to protect accounts, enforce usage limits, diagnose failures and prevent duplicate requests and abuse. Completed checks saved in Library are stored on your device. Private checks and submitted attachments are normally kept for one hour and no longer than one day after a processing update. Results for public links may be stored and reused for up to seven days. Your uploaded attachments and captions are not included in these shared results or the public feed. Hosting and processing providers may also retain operational logs or backups under their own policies.

Public information used in checks

We also retrieve information from public websites, publishers and social platforms to research claims and prepare feed stories. This can include names, public posts, quotations and other publicly available information. If a result contains inaccurate personal information or raises a privacy concern, report it in the app or contact support.

Feed reading history

For the feed, we store which stories your account has seen so that they do not repeatedly appear. This history is removed with your account. Published explainers and their evidence sources are separate from private content you submit for a check.

Services we use

We use service providers for account sign-in, AI-assisted checks, evidence searches, verification emails, hosting and backups. Depending on the feature, they process account details, submitted content or technical information needed to provide that service. Information may be processed outside your country.

When retrieving content or supporting sources, we may send requests to the relevant websites and media platforms. If you open an external source, that website’s privacy practices apply.

Reports and sharing

Result reports and sharing

If you choose Report this result, we receive your account identifier, selected claim, displayed explanation, category and any note you enter. No original image or video is attached to a report. Reports are reviewed to investigate mistakes, harmful content and privacy concerns and improve safeguards; they do not automatically change a verdict. Reports and review notes expire within 90 days of submission and are removed when you delete your account. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Sharing a completed result creates an image or text on your device without a new AI check or a public result webpage. The Android sharing menu sends it to the app you select, under that app’s policies. Saved and shared copies are outside Unveylo’s account-deletion control.

Subscriptions and optional ads

If you purchase a subscription through Google Play, we process purchase and subscription information to manage your access and restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card details. Deleting your Unveylo account does not cancel your Google Play subscription.

If you choose to watch a rewarded ad, advertising partners may process device identifiers, network information and ad interactions to deliver ads and verify rewards. Where required, we ask for consent before loading ads.

Purchase and usage records

Where purchase records exist, they are encrypted when stored and normally expire after the longer of 180 days from verification or 90 days after subscription expiry; later verification can extend this period. Records linking a purchase to an account follow the same period and may remain after account deletion to resolve purchase issues and prevent fraud. Payment stores and service providers may retain records under their own policies.

Account-deletion security records expire after 90 days. Daily usage records normally expire after two days, paid usage records after 60 days, and reward verification records after 90 days. Information needed to manage your allowance remains while your account exists.

Your privacy choices and account deletion

Your controls

You can choose what content to submit, remove locally saved checks and request account deletion through Settings > Manage account > Delete account. A recent sign-in is required to protect your account. Account deletion removes the authentication account and its private checks, submitted reports and feed reading history, and the app removes that account's saved checks from the current device. Copies you exported or shared, and copies on other devices, are not remotely erased. Some billing and security records remain for the purposes and retention periods described above; stored results for public links may remain until their normal expiry.

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or help requesting deletion without the app, contact support@unveylo.com from the email address associated with your account. We may verify account ownership before acting. Never send your password, signup code or payment card details by email. Deleting an account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; manage or cancel it in Google Play. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. You may complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office. We will respond within applicable legal deadlines.

International processing and legal information

Purposes and legal bases

Where EU or UK data protection law applies, we process the information necessary to provide the account and checks you request to perform our service contract; use necessary, proportionate security and fraud-prevention information for our legitimate interests in protecting the service; and retain information where required to meet legal obligations. You do not have to submit content for a check. If you choose not to provide information needed for a feature, we may be unable to provide that feature.

Your right to object

Where applicable law gives you this right, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting support@unveylo.com. We will assess your request under that law.

International processing

Our hosting and service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Legal protections can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires international-transfer safeguards, these must be in place for the relevant processing. Contact support@unveylo.com for information about the safeguards applicable to your data or to request a copy where available.

Security and policy updates

Security and changes

We use encrypted connections, account verification, access controls and encryption for stored purchase records. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will update this policy when our data practices change and identify the updated date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where required.
